Today at school we had a cultural exchange between Spanish and Japanese Students.
We had a really good time! They taught us some words in Japanese... I can't write them but I can pronunce them at least...
I think I can have a little conversation with a Japanese now...
I can say:
- Conichiwa which means "Hello!"
- Oguenki deska, or How are you?
- Watasiwa namaewa Laura, which means "My name is Laura"
And more words very useful in everyday conversations.
They told us some interesting things about their culture, how the school system is, how pop culture is in Japan, what kind of sports they like best, and what places are worth to visit there.
I think that we are quite diferent but not as much as I thought before we did this activity. I'd like to know more about Japan... I hope we will do this activity again!

Global Warming... Is there any solution??
Yes! If all of us work together we can change the fast growing of global warming.
You may think "Well... climate change is a politicians thing, I can't do anything on my own" But you are wrong, because global warming affects you and it affects all the other people around you.
So here there are some little things that you can do to stop global warming:
- You can recycle your garbage. You only have to separate plastics, paper and organic rubbish, that's all done!
- You mustn't kill plants or trees because they reduce the carbon dioxide emissions.
- You don't have to waste water, and you should save it as much as you can.
- You should go to work by bus or walking everyday, that way you will stop global warming and you will be on fit!
They are only four of a lot of solutions to the main problem in the world nowadays....
Taking care, we will lend a better place to live to our grandchildren.

Landing in Vancouver... The chronicles of a Spanish girl in Vancouver
Hello Everybody!
My name's Laura, I'm Spanish, from Zaragoza, exactly, a city in the north east of Spain. I'm glad to be here in Vancouver!
Yesterday I met my host family and they are very nice! After the long trip which took us about one day, I was wishing to meet Laverne and Fred.
My house here is very beautiful, it has a big garden and all the rooms are very big! The best of all is that I can see the mountains from my bedroom!!
Here I'm living with a Japanese girl too. She's called Hitomi and I haven't spoken very much with her yet, but she looks like a good girl.
During this month I'm going to study in Archer College. From my house, I have to take a bus and the sky train, which is a train that takes you directly and quicker than a bus to the place you want to go.
Today is my first day here, and this morning we had a tour around the downtown. The city is beautiful! What I liked best is "Canada Place" which is a square in the city near the harbor and you can see a lot of ships! I like the landscape because you can see mountains and beach together!
If the first day has been so good... the rest of the month will be exciting! And I wish to improve my English too!
